Doctor and nurses we saw were excellent. Reception staff seemed less competent. We received multiple letters about the same thing, they often came after the appointment date and they booked the wrong dates.

Although my overall experience was good and I am happy I had the surgery, there are some negatives to my experience. I was put off by the doctor and nurse chatting socially over me all during the procedure. I felt it was too much and I wanted the doctor to fully concentrate on my procedure. No one told me anything about what I might experience afterwards in the early stages. I had a really strong pounding in my ears. Also no one asked me if I had tinnitus, which I have, and which was much worse for a few days. I was anxious this would never improve. I fed this back to the nurse who rang me and she said she would talk to a doctor. However no one ever contacted me about it. I don't think enough care was taken to make sure both my ears looked the same. That's been disappointing. I find I'm now unable to wear earrings for pierced ears. This is beyond disappointing as I'd been wearing them for 45 years. They are always difficult and sore to put in and take out now. I feel you should advise people to leave re piercing for a much longer period than 6 weeks, which is what I was advised would be enough time. Finally, I needed more of the ointment supplied and did not find it easy to obtain more without saying what it was for, which I was reluctant to do. A larger tube would help here.

After booking an appointment to see Mr Wijesiri at Woodlands Hospital (regarding long term severe endometriosis and ovarian cysts since 17yrs old), attending an MRI and after appointment, I spoke to Hailey to look at next steps for a full hysterectomy which would be done at Woodlands Hospital privately. I am now 43yrs old and cannot describe how many bad experiences I have had with clinicians/doctors/consultants/GP's about my health. It was so misunderstood - especially due to the lack of being able to point to a lump/cyst/exact science for removal. It is hidden, silent to anyone external but a lifetime of pain, debilitation and quality of life to all women who have the misfortune of dealing with it. Cue Hailey - to say that she went above and beyond is an understatement. And I must add I was emotional, drained, exhausted from my NHS battle to get help and have something done about this for all of these years. Hailey listened, took notes, gave much empathy and came up with a fantastic plan for what next steps could be. That day - in fact that afternoon I had my NHS appointment with Gynaecology that I had waited a year for - suffering sever pain every day and even at times having to call out an ambulance it was so bad. Hailey provided me with as much information as possible for this appointment - all of my scans, notes recommendations everything. But above that she offered immense advice to ensure that I talked about the impact on my quality of life, mental health and well being and above all physical impact on a daily basis. For the very first time since I was 17yrs old I felt that I had an advocate, a guardian angel, someone helping me, listening to me and hearing the desperate pain that I was in. I attended the appointment with a friend as emotional backup (who was in the same position 5yrs ago, had a full hysterectomy and it changed her life). I was swiftly moved to urgent/priority for the full hysterectomy when I provided all of the information Hailey had provided (within a couple of hours) and the following day told that it would be a minimum of a year to have this operation done via NHS. Back to Hailey on the phone and she devised a plan to look at doing this operation via Private Healthcare at Woodlands Hospital. Hailey advised this was something that had been done before multiple times, we just had to ensure there was a bladder surgeon and bowel surgeon present also in case of any issues. Off Hailey went, picking the top bowel and bladder surgeon, checking with Woodlands Hospital and Mr Wijesiri and by the end of that day we had a plan. As long as Axa (my insurance company) would cover it I could have everything done at Woodlands Hospital within 6-8 weeks. If you are looking for support for your health, support for your mind, experienced clinician, experienced surgeons and all round the best care possible - you have come to the right place. Consultants Choice Clinic is the organisation that has been missing in healthcare my entire life. They put the patient first, care about what they are providing and ultimately live to make peoples lives better. The support I have received from this clinic has been invaluable. I am ready to tackle this operation and recovery like my life depends on it and it is all thanks to Hailey and her team at Conusultants Choice Clinic. I cannot thank you enough Hailey. Happy for this to be named, no need for anonymity. Abi S xxxx
