I had spent the best part of two to three years trying to find a surgeon who could correct a previous rhinoplasty done abroad. My nose wasn't awful, but it was definitely asymmetrical from the front (one nostril was higher than the other) and almost looked like a lower 'L' shape. It looked like two different noses from either side and I hated having photos taken from the front. This time I wanted to make sure I went to the best doctor possible. I came across Mr Jacques on Instagram and I loved how natural the results were, as well as the fact they seemed tailor-made for each person and not "nose job"-y. I also liked that he moulded noses around the person's gender or ethnicity, rather than creating the same nose on everyone. From our first meeting, I found Mr Jacques to be personable, funny and kind. He was realistic with what I should expect. By our second meeting, when he showed me a morph of what he wanted to do, I knew there and then he was the surgeon for me. I wasn't looking for "perfection" - I think if you chase perfection, you will never be satisfied and will go down the overworked route, which I see in my line of work a lot. I wanted my nose but better and he listened to that. I am a bit of a worrier and messaged Mr Jacques in between our consultations and surgery with any questions I had. He always replied to me and went above what many doctors or surgeons would have done, instead of me having to go through assistants or PAs. I really admired the fact he took the time to message me directly and put me at ease. Having any plastic surgery is scary enough, but especially a revision, as you don't want it to go wrong again. I had my surgery at the Lister Hospital in Chelsea. Mr Jacques came to see me beforehand to go over what we were doing. I also met his lovely anaesthetist before going in who put me at ease too (the anaesthetic was what made me most nervous, for some reason). I closed my eyes and when I woke up, I could finally breathe again! I'd never been able to breathe out of my right nostril. When I looked in the mirror afterwards, I could already see such an aesthetic improvement and had no bruising whatsoever - aside from the bandage on my nose, you'd have never thought I just had a rhinoplasty, let alone a revision. Over the course of the next week, Mr Jacques was on hand to answer any questions I had. There was a bit of swelling when the cast was taken off, but it went down incredibly quickly. By the second week, I felt fine going out in public. No one has noticed anything - someone asked if I'd been on holiday or what I'd done to look better. Even more bizarrely, my own parents haven't noticed a difference. They think I look good but but can't put their finger on why (I didn't tell them I was having surgery). The nose looks so natural that it just fits my face perfectly. I cannot recommend Mr Jacques enough. I am so thrilled with my nose and can't stop looking in the mirror at it now for positive reasons. Six weeks on, it is still a LITTLE swollen, but nothing a bit of contour can't fix. It is healing very well. It is even, balanced and looks like the nose I should've been born with, without looking fake. It is perfect for me. Thank you Dr Jacques for improving my confidence, you're the best!!!
