About Mr Dominic Peter-James Howard
Mr Dominic PJ Howard is a consultant vascular surgeon based in Oxford and Harley Street and affiliated with the Thames Valley Vascular Network. He also holds a senior researcher position at the University of Oxford.
Mr. Howard earned his qualifications from the University of Oxford in 2003 and pursued surgical training in Oxford. He furthered his specialisation through an Endovascular fellowship in Adelaide, Australia, enriching his skills in advanced vascular interventions. In 2017, he was appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the prestigious John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Mr Howard specialising in minimally invasive techniques for treatiing arterial disease and varicose veins, and he leads the venous foam sclerotherapy intervention program at the John Radcliffe Hospital. His clinical interests cover a range of areas in vascular disease, with a focus on innovative approaches to challenging pathologies such as thoracic outlet syndrome, carotid arterial disease, percutaneous artery access for complex aortic procedures, and peripheral arterial disease management.
A dedicated researcher, Mr. Howard's work in epidemiology has yielded significant insights into vascular disease prevention, drawing from data collected on a population-cohort of 100,000 individuals. His contributions to vascular research have been recognised with prestigious awards, including The Queen’s Prize for Higher Education, The Vascular Society Sol Cohen Prize (twice), and The European Young Investigator Award.
