Mr Javad Moayedi is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon. Mr Moayedi trained in Sweden at the University of Linkoping and has subspecialty accreditation in Cataract, Eyelid and Glaucoma Surgery. He has over 20 years of experience in the field and consults at Optegra Eye Hospital in North London.

His areas of interest are as follows:

• Vision correction such as high short /long-sightedness and Astigmatism
• Implantable Contact Lens
• Vision correction after Previous Laser Surgery, PRK, Lasik

• Correction of malformation of the eyelid
• YAG Capsulotomy
• Medical Glaucoma

In 2005, after training, he moved to Somerset to establish ophthalmic services at an independent practice in Somerset. He has helped establish three more centres in the South West since 2008.

Mr Moayedi is a high-volume cataract surgeon; he has vast experience of Small Incision Cataract Surgery having performed more than 35,000 cataract and lens surgery procedures with a very high success rate.

Mr Moayedi is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is also a member of the American and European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the UK and Northern Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

He has published papers on cataract and lens implant surgery and delivered lectures on the latest state of the art surgical techniques.
