Miss. Georgina Fraser is a highly competent Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist working at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Hampshire. She studied medicine at University College London before completing her specialist general training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London with advanced certification in Urogynaecology, Vaginal Surgical Procedures and Vulval problems. She is also qualified in the management of menopause symptoms and is a member of the British Menopause Society.
Miss Fraser is a recognised specialist in Women's Health and has a particular focus on perineal issues post-childbirth and vaginal prolapse and urinary problems. As well as being a general gynaecologist, she is trained in supporting and treating individuals who struggle with symptoms related to their hormones including premenstrual syndrome and is committed to delivering excellent treatments with sensitivity and care. She is a member of both the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and British Society of Urogynaecology.
As well as having a busy private practice Georgina works in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as an NHS Consultant. There she works on labour ward and also runs a well regarded Perineal Clinic. She does general gynaecology and regularly sees patients with painful and heavy periods. Her specialist work focuses on urinary incontinence and prolapse surgery and the effective management of these conditions. Within the NHS she leads her department in a governance role and so is particularly focused on patient safety, teaching and research.
" I am interested in all aspects of Women's health and how we can improve it through education and effective management. All too often I hear of young women suffering for years with pelvic pain, heavy periods or hormonal problems thinking that they just have to manage when there is plenty we can do to help. As we age some women develop further health issues including prolapse symptoms or urinary problems thinking that it is a normal part of ageing and that menopausal symptoms are something we just have to cope with. I disagree and there is plenty on offer to provide support and try to improve the individual woman's quality of life."
Outside of work she has a young family and dogs living in rural Hampshire. She is a keen runner and cyclist.

*TW* As someone who lives with the trauma of a historical sexual assault I find these sorts of appointments incredibly difficult. Ms Georgina Fraser listened to my experience and put me at ease. Her careful, considered approach, and willingness to be lead by what I needed made this experience so much easier. This was the first time in my 44 years that I have left a gynae appointment and not had to retreat to my bed and hide for the next 12 hours. I came away feeling listened to, understood and supported. Throughout every step of the process my needs, both physical and mental, were carefully considered and I felt supported throughout.
