About Mr Andrew Skyrme
Mr Andrew Skyrme is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specialising in Lower Limb Surgery. More specifically, his clinical interests lie in complex hip surgery inclusing hip surgery and uncemented and cemented replacements.
Mr Skyrme undertook his higher surgical training in the South East of England following qualifying from Guy's Hospital in 1993. In 2002 he obtained his FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) certificate and then undertook a one year fellowship in Australia in Sydney and Adelaide. The fellowship was concentrated primarily on complex revision hip surgery and trauma surgery.
Whilst working in Australia, Mr Skyrme developed his interest in lower limb hip and knee surgery and, in particular, hip revision surgery.
Mr Skyrme is a Royal College Tutor for surgery for Eastbourne DGH which involves the organisation of training of the surgical junior doctors.

Mr Skyrme was really professional but also warm & friendly. I am happy that he also requested tests to see if I have developed any specific conditions which could explain a phenomenon i have recently been experiencing. The results speak for themselves. Walking 750 to 1500 metres a day just 4 weeks after the operation. More explanation of what is going into the body, why, and factors affecting how long it will last would have been nice but ultimately you have to trust that the best is being done. If Andrew was on Tik-Tok he'd surely have over a milion followers (but then no time to fix broken people). Very grateful to this guy.
