I had a sciatica that started in Feb 2024. After meeting different consultants, I finally met Dr. Fakouri who explained me clearly that it was caused by a slipped L5/S1 disc, and told me about the standard process to take care of it. We started with an epidural injection that Dr Fakouri performed. I was unlucky and fall in the 25% of people for who it doesn’t work. Dr. Fakouri told me that with my chronic pain, the generally agreed next step was a microdiskectomy. He was also very honest and transparent about the risks of this, and he didn’t push me to do it. He just gave me all the rational information to make my own decision. 4 months later, the pain became unbearable and the surgery became my only hope. Dr. Fakouri and his team were able to make a quick appointment for it, and now the pain is gone. The surgery went very well, I just needed to take painkillers for 2 days, was able to walk, and pain is gone. I really liked Dr. Fakouri genuine transparency, precision and simplicity about the different steps of the treatments. The two big surgical procedures (epidural injection, microdiskectomy) were very well done, and the microdiskectomy brought back my life. Cannot recommend him enough.
