Declan Cahill is an Excellent, confident, very experienced Surgeon, all my questions and fears were discussed and explained with a straight talking honest factual approach, Also his great highly efficient team including operational, administration and support. Had RARP surgery in October 2022 at the the Fantastic Royal Marsden Chelsea, all went very well. Recovery, quicker than expected, I am very grateful, as never had an operation before was very anxious of the thought of it all. Thank you very much for putting me at ease throughout that daunting journey by calmness and reassurance, during the last 2 years of support and professionalism.

Given that you always fear the worst after being given a cancer diagnosis, I have to say the whole process and care given by Declan and his team was absolutely first class. I don't think I could have had a better treatment experience, and it was far less invasive than I thought it was going to be.

During my experience, I found Declan very pleasant and professional. From the first consultation through to my procedure I was put at ease and had everything explained clearly and emphatically.

Declan has made a difficult time for me far less stressful. He explained clearly and effectively my options. He arranged the surgery with speed. He communicated well and provided high quality support to manage potential side effects. He undertook exceptional surgery that has given excellent results to date. What stood out most was his personal attention at crucial moments, providing both confidence and reassurance. I cannot emphasise enough the high level of care and expertise provided by Declan and his team.

When you get diagnosed, life takes on a different hue and often you feel you are being passed along a chain of experts without really being in control. Declan and his team took time, explained the options and I felt I had a chance to catch up with the diagnosis and make a fully informed decision, and then were able to quickly move forward with treatment.

I've never had a major operation, and at first I was worried as I lost my dad to prostate cancer and my mum to pancreatic cancer. But after meeting Mr Cahill, seeing his no 'mucking about' attitude and confident explanations I was a lot less worried.

Declan was brilliant. He said he would look after me and that is what he did. More than a very skilled surgeon - I was in his very capable hands from start to finish.

In addition to an amazing outcome, Declan and his team managed the emotional journey all the way through. .. without thins i think i would have cracked up.

Declan’s reassurance made me feel like I was in safe hands from the day I got my diagnosis. His ongoing contact both pre and post surgery played a big part in helping me stay positive throughout the experience, even to this day.
