I contacted Dr Gadas clinic in October 2024 initially to see about seeking an ADHD assessment for my Daughter (7), and Dr Gada recommended that she should be assessed for Autism, ADHD and cognitive assessments. The cost for this in March 2025 was £3400. Our appointment was arranged for 30th December at the Oxford clinic, the manor hospital. There is a free car park underneath the building, and there's was plenty of spaces, but this was early morning and the week after Christmas. There was a play room where we were shown to wait, which was helpful in terms of settling Harper's nerves, but we didn't see any further rooms due to, Unfortunately this was cancelled due to Dr Gada not being available. Unfortunately we weren't made aware and attending the appointment. Obviously this was upsetting for us, however I must say that Dr Gada was very apologetic that we hadn't been made aware, and he was actually in hospital, so it really couldn't have been helped. We received a phone call from his secretary soon after we left the appointment apologising and letting us know they'll be in touch to rearrange the appointment. Due to Dr Gada having existing appointments already booked in, we did have to wait 3 months for the appointment to go ahead again, and this time we attended the Reading Clinic, again there is free parking here and there were plenty of spaces available, Our appointment was 1:15 on a Tuesday. The actual appointment. We were directed to a waiting room, unfortunately not a play room like in Oxford, but more of a standard dr's waiting room. Harper was then seen by the nurse for heigh, weight and blood pressure. After around 10-15 minutes we went to the clinic room to start the assessment with Dr Gada. We sat at a desk, myself and my husband on one side, and Harper to the side, and Dr Gada on the other side. It was a clinical room, with a clinic bed like you'd see in a Drs room next to the desk. After introductions, Dr Gada started with an ADOS and this was with Harper only. Lewis and I were there to just observe this, and not comment. This lasted around 60 minutes. Dr Gada was really good with Harper and helping her to keep focused and engaged, and ensured that the room was adequate for her in terms of temperature. We then had a 15-20 min break where Dr Gada took us to a different waiting room to have a hot drink and/ or water. Highly recommend the creamy hot chocolate! After the break Dr Gada came and got us and we went back to the clinic room. Dr Gada then completed a physical assessment. Harper had to walk up and down the room in various ways, and then she was asked to lay on the bed for Dr Gada to assess her muscle tone and reflexes. He listened to her heart, and chest. He looked over her skin, for any birth marks ect. After this Dr Gada worked through some cognitive questions with Harper. He then asked Lewis and I some questions which he hadn't previously seen in our already provided paperwork/ evidence, this was to assist with the ADHD assessment. He then asked if we had anything else to add, which hadn't already been covered. Dr Gada then provided his feedback to us, showing us why he thought so. He diagnosed Harper with Autism, ADHD and a learning delay. Personally I was worried about Harper not "presenting" as autistic within the appointment, but I need not have worried. The ADOS is a really good diagnostic tool for allowing the assessor to see these traits that they need to. The appointment was from 1:15 pm- 5:15 pm. We took Harper's tablet and colouring to try and entertain her for when she wasn't needed during the assessment. We received Harper's report within 1 week via email. There was a couple of amendments to be made, and I received a call from Dr Gada to explain a few things in the report also. Overall Dr Gada is a very professional person, who has a good temperament and knows how to engage with neurodivergent children. I felt that Dr Gada has a really good understanding of Various neurodivergent conditions. Thank you for your time and expertise.
