Saw Dr Shidrawi who was exceptional as always. His clinic was running late however I appreciated that the receptionist informed me of this as soon as I arrived.

Very, very impressive all round. I was apprehensive ahead of my operation (it involved significant surgery and general anaesthetic), but every single person I interacted with was extremely professional, courteous, thoughtful and reassuring. I was extremely impressed with Mr Pollock, his anaesthetist (Mike) and the two orderlies who looked after me pre-op (Sam) and post-op (Marwan).

She’s not just an expert in her field—she genuinely cares about her patients. She takes the time to explain things clearly, making sure you understand your condition and options without ever feeling rushed. Dealing with heart issues is daunting, but with Dr. Castiello, I always felt in safe hands. Her attention to detail and thoughtful approach made a real difference, not just for me but for my family too. She listens, she reassures, and most importantly, she makes you feel looked after. What sets her apart is her dedication—not just to cardiology, but to people. She treats her patients with kindness and respect, always making sure they feel supported. It’s rare to find someone so skilled yet so down-to-earth, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been under her care. If you’re looking for a cardiologist who is not only brilliant at what she does but also compassionate and approachable, Dr. Castiello is the one.

I have been blown away by the outstanding service provided by every single member of staff. Amazing care givers. I could simply never return to any other hospital now I know the kind of care given at Blackheath. It really was exceptional.
