I turned to Weightmatters for psychological therapy with the hope of "rewiring" my thinking, especially around how I used food to cope with emotional pain. At the time, I was uncertain and even skeptical about whether real change was possible. But looking back now, I hardly recognize the version of myself who first walked through those doors. The journey has been transformative, and I'm deeply grateful for the support and guidance I received.

Dr Kenneth Lee, at the London Psychiatry Clinic, has been brilliant throughout the journey of diagnosing and medicating my son, who has ADHD. Dr Lee has been professional, kind, caring and overall brilliant with my 11 year old.

Jade has been a great support for my daughter in navigating the challenges of school life, especially when it comes to managing conflicts, managing stress and regulating her temper. Jade has created a safe, comfortable environment where my daughter feels she can talk openly and honestly. We have seen noticeable improvements in how she expresses herself and copes with difficult situations. We’re very grateful for Jade’s guidance and would highly recommend her to any other parents seeking support for their child’s emotional well-being.

I owe my life and happiness to getting the help I needed and finally being able to recover. I felt truly hopeless and getting therapy was my final try to recover from my eating disorder. And it worked! It wasn’t easy, not going to lie. It was a rollercoaster but so worth it. Throughout therapy I was always reminded of the bigger picture while making small steps, one day at a time. Went through highs and lows and in the end got my life back. The honesty in therapy was wat stood out most. I was faced with the fact it was never about the food. Not focussing on food but the feelings that were covered helped me process all that stood in the way if living my life. It’s so easy to do nothing, but it’s much more powerful to act and fight for your right to live. I worked hard for years. Found peace and the love of my life (literally being in treatment) who I can call my husband. The greatest thing I ever learned is to love and be loved in return.

The overall experience was very good but with some reservations about the amount of internal meetings the doctors and staff attend. In general the nurses and staff are very helpful. Of particular note was the excellent lower ward court manager Tahera Taurobally. She was always attentive and extremely helpful to my husband when he visited me. My only minor issue is that as flowers are allowed in the room could they please provide plastic vases. !! Careful consideration should be given to the high weekly costs for care.
