I was treated by Dr Komath back in October after having my first appointment earlier on in the year. After assessing my case Dr Komath presented to me 2 surgical options to alleviate my TMJ disorders and stage 3 arthritis. Both options were explained to me in great detail as one surgery was a pretty major procedure, so made sure I was aware of any and every risk. The procedure I opted for went smoothly and the after care I’ve received from Dr Komath and his team has been amazing. The procedure I had was a Level 3 Arthroscopy and I have definitely been able to feel the benefits of this surgery. My jaw would dislocate itself every time I opened my mouth from the age of around 5/6, and after having the surgery, finally at age 26 I have jaw that doesn’t get stuck wide open or pop out when I yawn. I also want to mention Dr Komath’s knowledge on certain medical conditions. I have a disability that causes my joints to dislocate and also affects any surgical procedures, whether it’s due to anaesthesia, my scars not healing correctly, and also my body not talking to the surgery. Dr Komath took my existing health conditions on board and still references them now during checkups and asks how my procedure has worked with me being different to the average patient.
