Sam Singh served as the Lead Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’, a renowned teaching hospital in London, from 2005 to 2022. During his nearly 20-year tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of NHS specialists by training 15 Foot and Ankle consultants in the South East, all of whom directly trained under him through the fellowship programme he established. After years of NHS service, he transitioned to full-time private practice in response to growing demand for his expertise and the evolving nature of private care. He brought the same high level of skill, commitment, and patient-focused care to his new practice.
Sam graduated from Cambridge University and completed his training in Boston, USA. He is the only British surgeon to have been awarded a specialist fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery from Harvard University. Renowned as one of London’s leading Foot and Ankle experts, he employs the latest, evidence-based methods to treat a wide variety of foot and ankle issues, including sports injuries, ankle pain and arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, Morton’s neuroma, Achilles disorders, and plantar fasciitis. His services also include minimally invasive surgery.
His approach to patient care is hands-on, guiding patients at every step to ensure they receive prompt and effective treatment. This might include referring them to the appropriate physiotherapist, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective scanning options, and performing injections during the same appointment when possible. He takes great pride in caring for his patients, whether in consultation or surgery. His team shares this commitment, focusing on meticulous attention to detail and responsive communication. This personalized approach has earned the practice strong patient confidence, driving a consistent demand for his services and ensuring a busy practice.
Dr. Singh’s dedication extends beyond patient care. He served as Senior Editor for bunions and Morton’s neuroma for NHS Choices, the UK’s leading patient resource. He frequently shares his knowledge through podcasts, which have become valuable resources for patients seeking to better understand their conditions. One of his podcasts, comparing conservative versus surgical treatments for Achilles tendon rupture, has gained global recognition for its balanced and informative approach, allowing listeners to consider their options at their own pace.
In addition to his podcast work, he regularly contributes to both academic journals and popular media. He also offers a wealth of resources on his website, providing patients with valuable articles and videos on foot and ankle conditions and recovery.
Dr. Singh’s outstanding reputation is reflected in exceptional patient feedback on Doctify and PHIN (Private Healthcare Information Network), where his surgical outcomes are transparently published. With over 800 recommendations on Doctify and nearly 500 on PHIN, he is a trusted choice for Foot and Ankle care. His high patient volume means frequent exposure to a wide range of conditions, enhancing his ability to diagnose rare issues while also refining his expertise in treating more common ailments.
He is deeply passionate about his work, offering his care with both professionalism and a touch of good humour, always treating his patients with respect and never condescendingly.
Dr. Singh is recognized as a Platinum BUPA provider and is a preferred provider for all major insurance companies, with his charges consistently falling within their approved guidelines.

Dr Singh did operate on my right ankle a few years ago, came back last year for the left one which this time was a more difficult procedure. He is really professional, explains in details the pre and post operation,, lots of follow up appointments after the operation, you know you are in good hands as soon as you meet him. Always smiling, really friendly and put you at ease from the start. I would recommend Dr Singh to everyone. The staff at Chesterfield park Hospital were great too!
Thank you, yes the staff at Chelsfield are lovely. Glad that you are doing well and thank you for sharing your experience with others

Fantastic experience with Dr. Singh. Not only his technique is incredible (I am walking 10K steps less than two months after a bilateral surgery Dr. Singh performed on my feet), but he and his entire staff are so warm, patient, efficient and overall an absolutely pleasure to interact with. Could not recommend any higher. I had doubts about having this procedure for years and now my only regret that I have not had it done sooner.
So nice to hear your feedback and thank you for sharing it with other patients. I think if you have bunions on both feet in suitable cases it is nice to get them both done at the same time

Mr singh made it very easy. I was very scared and didn't know what to expect and he met over my expectations.
Thank you, such kind words. I think as doctor's we sometimes forget what a big event surgery can be for patients. I am glad you are doing well

Achilles tendon problems are a nuisance as the blood supply to the area is so poor that it takes a long time to heal. Glad that you are getting better

I couldn’t recommend Sam Singh enough. Going ahead with Foot surgery is a difficult decision to make but Sam put my mind at rest and was very honest about what to expect. Although a painful procedure I am pleased I went ahead.
Bunion surgery is always a bit painful initially but its worth it and your feel will be much happier for it

Fantastic experience with Mr Singh who corrected large bunions on both feet. From start to finish I found him helpful, kind and generous with his explanations (all easily understandable) of the surgeries and the recovery. I am delighted with the results on both feet - the bunions were interfering with daily actions as well as my years-long practice of advanced ballroom dancing. I can't praise Mr Singh highly enough, he is a terrific consultant!
Wow, thank you. I look forward to you getting back to the ballroom dancing you so enjoy
